Here are 5 critical questions you need to ask yourself to get the offers for the job opportunities you really want.

I keep telling friends, hiring managers, potential employer, anyone that will listen that I am opened to any job opportunities BUT I still can’t get a job.

That’s the goal isn’t it?  Love life again.  Pay off the bills, get caught up or back on track and be happy at work and at home.  You can’t have one without the other, right?

I don’t want you to throw yourself out there and settle for any job opportunities that come your way.  The truth is that is the least effective way to get hired.  Anyone who is telling you to apply for all the  job opportunities you find that looks interesting doesn’t have your best interest in mind.  What they are actually doing is getting you eliminated from companies (not just jobs) who will never take another application of your seriously.  If you want more info about this read my post Why the Online Application System is Inhumane.

So here are the 5 Questions you have to ask yourself to get yourself back on track and approach getting hired with Focus, Passion and Pin-Point Accuracy to turn job opportunities into job offers.

1.  What are 3 things that you Love and Want to do at work?
These aren’t the things you are good at but don’t like doing.  These are the things that you LOVE to do.  Marcus Buckingham says you know you are doing something you love when you lose track of time.

2.  What type of environment do you want to work in.
Break it down into Operation vs. Administration.  Do you want to be out walking around and dealing with people or working in an office at a desk?

3.  What type or style of management gets the best out of you?
And what type of management gets the worst out of you.  Keep in mind, when you were managed by your friend you probably didn’t perform at your best and you knew it.  Who got the best out of you and why?

4.  Where are you on your own “personal experience cycle.”
This is a term and exercise unique to Skills to Achieve, so you might not understand the terminology.  It refers to the cycle of your career as it relates to gaining experience and how you use that experience to either advance or stabilize your career.  There is no right or wrong way to approach it, where ever you want to be is perfect – you just have to understand where it is you want to be!

5.  What are your motivations to go to work?
There are only 4 – Location, Money, Career & Company.  Easy right?  Well 90% of the people I coach and who take my program prioritize them in an order that will cause them to be very, very unhappy if they were to get what they think they want!

Right after exploring throughout the world wide web and seeing concepts which are not helpful, I assumed my life was over. Being alive without the approaches to the issues you have sorted out by way of your posting is a crucial case, and those which could have badly damaged my entire career if I hadn’t come across your blog post.
